Men's Tennis Match Against Virginia Tech Moved to 1:30 Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - Saturday's match between the University of Louisville men's tennis team and Virginia Tech has been moved to 1:30 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The match was originally scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start.

The Cards (9-8) enter the match at No. 40 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings after moving up a spot from last week. Louisville is coming off of 6-1 loss at No. 35 Oklahoma. Senior Andrew Carter and freshman Albert Wagner are No. 55 in the ITA doubles rankings. Freshmen Michael Lippens and Albert Wagner lead the team with 22-8 singles records. Lippens is 9-5 in dual matches, playing mostly at Nos. 2 and 3, while Wagner is 11-4 playing mostly at Nos. 3 and 4.

Virginia Tech stands in at No. 56 with a 6-5 record. The Hokies have two players ranked in singles and doubles. Luka Somen is No. 84 and Lucas Oliveira steps in at No. 89. As a doubles team, they are ranked 47th.

This will be the 17th meeting between the teams with the series knotted at eight wins apiece. Last season, the Hokies edged the Cardinals 4-3 on March 4 in Blacksburg, Va.

Following Saturday's match, U of L will return to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on March 21, when the Cards play host to Morehead State and Murray State in a doubleheader.
