LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The 16th ranked University of Louisville men's tennis team has compiled a 7-0 overall record and is off to the best start in school history.

"I am pleased with this 7-0 start which is the best start in program history," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "We are achieving our early season goal by building momentum and confidence. This good start comes at the perfect time since we qualified for the National Indoor Team Championships for the first time in program history. My strategic plan is always to grow this program and this team has really bought into that vision."

The Cardinals have posted 7-0 wins over IUPUII, Murray State and St. Mary's and have also notched victories over No. 62 East Tennessee State (4-3), No. 29 LSU (4-2), No. 32 Wisconsin (4-0) and No. 37 Minnesota (5-0).

U of L has been ranked among the nation's top 20 teams in all three 2010 ranking periods and earned their first appearance in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship where they will face No. 3 Ohio State on Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.
