The sophomore doubles team of Adam Donaldson and Sumit Gupta won the Louisville Winter Invitational `A' flight title Sunday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Senior Tim Barnoud fell in the finals of the `B' singles flight. "Sumit and Adam made our wall of pictures of Louisville Invitational champions today," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "They played with so much desire and determination and represented the 'Louisville' on the front of their shirts with honor."
Donaldson and Gupta defeated Tennessee Tech's Josh Girling and Nick Stafford 8-5 in the semifinals and capped off a 4-0 showing the tournament with an 8-3 victory over Xavier's Patrick Bandy and Chris Herrlinger to claim the title.
Vincennes' Jonas Imhof defaulted to place Barnoud in the finals of the flight `B' singles where he fell 6-4, 6-2 to Vincennes' Lindl Smith.
The Cardinals are back in action Oct. 22-26 at the Ohio Valley Regionals in Bloomington, Ind.
