Men's Tennis Completes Qualifying Round of Wilson/ITA Regional Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio - - Four University of Louisville men's tennis players competed in the qualifying round of the 2008 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships Thursday at The Ohio State University Varsity Tennis Center.

Freshman Andrew Carter defeated Dayton's Michael Rohan 6-0, 6-1 in his first round match, but fell to Illinois-Chicago's Sebastian Lystad 6-4, 7-5 in the second round.

Senior Tim Barnoud sent three sets with DePaul's Ben Hartman, but fell 7-5, 1-6, 6-4. Freshman Adam Donaldson was edged by Iowa's Tom Mroziewicz 7-6(9), 6-4. Freshman Sumit-Prakash Gupta fell to Peter Marrack of Wisconsin 6-4, 6-1.

The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow when the 26th-ranked team of Simon Childs and Austen Childs; Donaldson and Barnoud, sophomore Viktor Maksimcuk and Gupta will open doubles play at 11:30 a.m.
