The 26th-ranked doubles team of Austen Childs and Simon Childs (no relation) advanced to the championship match as the Cardinals completed day two of the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational.
Childs and Childs defeated Virginia's Drew Courtney and Lee Singer 8-2 in the quarterfinals of the A-2 doubles division and will play the winner of USC's Johnson and Poldman and East Tennessee State's Olivares in Sunday's championship match.
Simon Childs defeated Tennessee's Matteo Fago 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5) in the quarterfinals of the A-1singles division, but fell to Duke's 39th-ranked Reid Carleton 6-4, 6-1 in the semifinals. He will play in the 3rd/4th place match Sunday.
Austen Childs, No. 26 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings lost to Virginia's 82nd-ranked Sanam Singh 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the A-2 singles division. Austen Childs then fell to Duke's 103rd ranked Kiril Dimitrov in the 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinal backdraw.
The UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational will conclude on Sunday.
