BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team defeated host Indiana 5-2 Thursday afternoon at the IU Tennis Center.

"A typical Louisville versus Indiana tennis match- exciting, intense and down to the wire," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "Our teams always play barn burners and Randy Bloemendaal is one of my best friends in the business and he does a fantastic job at developing his players. This team has really dug deep these last couple weeks and it is exciting to see their growth."

The Hoosiers (8-9) opened the match by taking the doubles point. Indiana's Sven Lalic and Dimitrije Tasic defeated Albert Wagner and Chris Simich 8-3 at the two-spot, but Louisville's Alex Gornet and Jeffrey Brown evened things up with an 8-5 win over Chris Essick and Stefan Lugonjic at No. 3.
