ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team concluded the UCF Quad Tournament with eight wins Sunday.
"We achieved our goals this tournament and am very happy with these guys," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "We wanted to finish strong and won 8 of the 11 matches against the host team UCF. These guys are now ready to start the dual match season. Several different doubles combinations were established as well. In a long dual match season, each doubles starter needs three players he can play at a high level with. This team's confidence continued from the last semester. We return to Louisville more prepared and more confident."
UofL will open the 2014 dual match season on Jan. 17 when the Cardinals play host to Morehead State at 1 p.m. and Murray State at 5:30 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
