The University of Louisville men's tennis team continued its strong play with four singles wins and seven doubles victories against Indiana at the Florida Gulf Coast Shootout Friday.
"I'm very happy with how Viktor Maksimcuk and Sumit-Prakash Gupta really changed the way they played doubles today," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "They worked as a team, set each other up. Their whole strategy was complementary of each other and it showed in their results. Andrew Carter, Robert Hall, Sumit-Prakash Gupta, Tim Barnoud, Viktor Maksimcuk all played well winning in straight sets. We look to finish off tomorrow's round robin play on a high note."
Sophomore Viktor Maksimcuk and freshman Robert Hall picked up wins in the `A' singles division while freshmen Sumit-Prakash Gupta, and Andrew Carter and junior Tim Barnoud tallied wins in the `B' division.
U of L swept through the `A' Doubles division as the team of senior Robert Rotaru Rotaru and sophomore Alejandro Calligari and the duo of Gupta and Maksimcuk a pair of matches each.
Hall and freshman Adam Donaldson also posted two wins while Carter and Barnoud picked up a victory in `B' Doubles.
The Florida Gulf Coach Shootout concludes Saturday.
