Louisville, Ky. - Former Louisville standouts Austin Berry and Nick DeLeon are the two top candidates for this season MLS Rookie of the Year honors. The Chicago Fire and D.C. United are doing their best to familiarize voters with the platforms of both Berry and DeLeon.

It's essentially a two-man race between former college teammates coming into the final weekend of the 2012 regular season. Berry seems to be leading in the polls, but his fellow Louisville alum DeLeon is making a strong push based on D.C.'s form and climb up the Eastern Conference table.

They'll make their final push this weekend in Chicago, when they take the field opposite each other with playoff seeding - and perhaps some personal awards - on the line.

Voting is still open on the MLS site.
