Men's Soccer Hosts UC Irvine in Regular Season Home Finale

Louisville, Ky. - The No. 14 Louisville men's soccer team host UC Irvine on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. in Cardinal Park. The game is the regular season home finale for the Cardinals. The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 10-4-1 and a BIG EAST record of 6-1-0. Last week the Cardinals defeated Villanova 1-0 to clinch the first round seed in the BIG EAST Red Division. Sophomore Will Vitalis leads the team in scoring with four goals and five assists for 13 points. Senior Greg Cochrane ranks second on the team with 12 points and sophomore Dylan Mares ranks third with 11 points. Junior Mike Mauro started the last eight games for the Cardinals in goal. He owns a 0.76 goals against average with four shutouts and a 7-1-1 record. UC Irvine enters the game with an overall record of 4-11-1 and a road record of 1-6-0. Carmeron Iwasa and Gor Kirakosyan lead the team with for 12 points. Iwasa has five goals and two assists while Kirakosyan has four goals and four assists. Michael Breslin leads the team in goal with a 1.75 goals against average. On the season he has collected 70 saves and two shutouts. The meeting will be the first between the two teams.
