The No. 21 Louisville men's soccer team host Villanova Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Cardinal Park. Louisville's seven seniors will be honored before the match as part of the senior night ceremonies.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 9-4-1 and a BIG EAST record of 5-1-0. Earlier this week the Cardinals defeated South Florida 2-1 in Tampa. Sophomore Will Vitalis leads the team in scoring with four goals and five assists for 13 points. Senior Greg Cochrane ranks second on the team with 12 points and sophomore Dylan Mares ranks third with 11 points. Junior Mike Mauro started the last seven games for the Cardinals in goal. He owns a 0.85 goals against average with two shutouts and a 6-1-1 record.

Men's Soccer Defeats Villanova 2-0 Saturday Afternoon
The No. 22 Louisville men's soccer team defeated Villanova 2-0 early Saturday afternoon in Nor'easter conditions. The field was covered in 2-3 inches of snow which started a half hour before the match began and it kept coming until midway through the second half and then turned to sleet and freezing rain.

Villanova enters the match with an overall record of 10-3-2 and a league record of 2-1-2. On Wednesday the Wildcats fell 2-0 to Syracuse, the loss was VU's first since Sept. 16 and first in conference play. Kyle Soroka leads the team in scoring with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Oscar Umar ranks second on the team in scoring with four goals and three assists for 11 points. John Fogarty has started every game in goal for the Wildcats. He owns a 0.79 goals against average with five shutouts and 63 saves.
Louisville leads the series 4-1-2 against the Wildcats. The Cardinals are 2-1-0 against the Wildcats in Cardinal Park. Louisville has won three straight meetings against Villanova. Last season the Cardinals defeated the Wildcats 2-0 in a snow storm.
