Louisvillle, Ky. - Louisville defender Andrew Farrell was named BIG EAST Defender of the Week after helping the Cards to a 2-0 record last week. Farrell finished the week with a goal and an assist to help the defeat Ohio State 4-0 and upset No. 4 Notre Dame 2-1.

Just five minutes into the second period against Ohio State, Paolo DelPiccolo took a free kick just outside the box and sent it to Farrell. He sent a cross to Zach Foxhoven in the center of the box for the score. Farrell anchored the defense that allowed just three shots on goal for the shutout. Farrell also registered a team save by heading the ball out of the goal, to preserve the shutout in the second half.

Against No. 4 Notre Dame, Farrell scored the game-winning goal off a penalty kick in the 73rd minute. Farrell and the Cardinal defense held the Fighting Irish to just three shots on goal for the win.
