No. 13/16 Men's Soccer Hosts the Mountaineers in the BIG EAST Home Opener

Louisville, Ky. - The No. 13/16 Louisville men's soccer team plays host to the West Virginia Mountaineers on Friday evening in Cardinal Park at 6:30 p.m. for the BIG EAST opener. The Cardinals are 1-1-2 in BIG EAST home openers.

Louisville enters the match with an overall record of 3-0-1. The Cardinals are coming off a 1-1 tie with UIC on Sunday in Cardinal Park. Sophomore forward Colin Rolfe leads the team in scoring with three goals for six points in just four games. The Cardinals are led in goal by sophomore keeper Andre Boudreaux who has 0.24 goals against average after four games allowing only one goal on the season.

West Virginia enters the game with an overall record of 1-1-2. Currently, the Mountaineers are on a three game undefeated streak playing to a tie in their last two games. Sophomore Alex Silva scored one of only two goals on the season in their last outing against Appalachian State.

At halftime of the game, there will be a special recognition of the 10th anniversary of Cardinal. The celebration will continue after the game when a pep rally will take place next door in Ulmer Stadium for the UofL-UK football game on Saturday. Following the pep rally will be a free concert by Nappy Roots.
