The No. 7/18 Louisville men's soccer team will host Army on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7:00 p.m. in Cardinal Park. The match is the annual Kick for Nick and all fans who donate a soccer ball to the foundation will receive free admission to the game. It is also military appreciation day all military, police and firefighters will receive free admission with a valid ID.
Louisville owns a 1-2-0 record on the year, falling to No. 3 Maryland and Saint Louis on the while defeating Belmont in the home opener. The Cardinals have three players with a goal, senior Ryan Smith, sophomore Alex Obbey and freshman Marlon Hairston. Sophomore keeper Joachim Ball owns a 1.67 goals against average with a 1-2-0 record.
Army enters the game with an overall record of 2-2-0. The Black Knights have defeated Iona and Air Force while falling to Seton Hall and Binghamton. Josh Koeppe leads the team with two goals and one assist for five points. Michael Kim is second on the team with one goal and one assist. Winston Boldt leads the team in goal with a 1.00 goals against average with 10 saves and two shutouts.
Saturday's match will be the first meeting between the two teams.
