Men's Soccer Opens the Season at No. 9 Maryland

College Park, Md. - The seventh ranked Louisville men's soccer team will open the regular season at ninth ranked Maryland on Sunday evening in Ludwig Field at 7:00 p.m. The match can be seen live on TerpsTV Premium.

The Cardinals finished exhibition play with a perfect record. The Cardinals defeated UAB in penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw. The Cardinals then defeated Wisconsin 1-0 and Lipscomb 4-0. Louisville had five different players score goals during the exhibition season. Three different keepers saw action during exhibition play as well.

The Terps picked up a pair of draws against No. 3 Creighton and Penn State to round out their preseason slate. Maryland will be led by John Stertzer and Taylor Kemp, 2012 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch candidates.

The series is tied 1-1 with both games being played in College Park. Louisville defeated the Terps 4-2 in the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament last season.
