LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Here is the latest GoCards.com update on the progress of the eight former Louisville men's soccer players currently competing professionally around the world.
Cardinals in Professional Soccer
- Austin Berry - Defender - MLS - Chicago Fire (Click here for Berry's Profile with the Fire)
Berry has started all 21 games for the Chicago Fire this season scoring one goal and adding two assists. As the team-leader in minutes played this season with 1,890, the reigning MLS Rookie of the Year has not missed a minute of MLS game action while starting and playing in 49 matches in his professional career with the Fire. Overall, Chicago has an 8-9-4 record and 28 points to rank seventh in the MLS Eastern Conference standings.
- Freddie Braun - Midfielder - USL PRO - Orlando City Lions (Click here for Braun's Profile with the Lions)
In his first season with Orlando City in USL PRO, Braun has played in 14 matches with seven starts in league play while also starting in the Lions' US Open Cup match. After lettering at Louisville from 2006-09, Braun began his professional career when he signed with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Portland Timbers in 2011. He also had stints with the Chicago Fire's Premier Development League (PDL) team, Chicago Fire Premier, before going to play with the Portland Timbers U23s. Overall, Orlando City is second in the USL PRO standings with 45 points and a 13-3-6 record.

Cochrane has played in 10 games with seven starts since making his MLS debut with the Galaxy earlier this season on April 13. A second round selection in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by the Galaxy, Cochrane has not played since a June 8 start against Real Salt Lake. However, he did see game action in LA's 3-1 loss to Real Madrid on Aug. 1 in Glendale, Ariz. Overall, LA is fourth in the MLS Western conference standings with 33 points and a 10-9-3 record.

DeLeon has 14 starts and has played in 15 matches overall for the United in 2013. The runner-up in the 2012 MLS Rookie of the Year race, DeLeon has started each of the last three matches for the United and while playing more than 75 minutes in each of the outings. That trio of matches followed his absence from the DC lineup in three straight matches due to an ankle injury suffered on June 26 in US Open Cup victory over New England. Overall, DeLeon has one assist in the 2013 MLS season. As a team, DC United is 10th in the MLS Eastern Conference standings with 13 points and a 3-15-4 record.

DelPiccolo has not yet seen game action during the 2013 MLS season after signing with the Montreal Impact on July 5. A First Team All-BIG EAST selection for the Cardinals, DelPiccolo was selected by Montreal in the second round, 27th overall, in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft and has been training with the club since June 3 following a stint in Germany. In 2013, Montreal is third in the MLS Eastern Conference race with 35 points and a 10-6-5 record overall.

The No. 1 overall selection in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft and a First Team All-American at Louisville, Farrell has started and played in 20 games during his rookie season for the New England Revolution. With one assist on the season, Farrell has six total shots for the Revolution. As a team, New England is sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference race with 30 points and an 8-8-6 record.

Granger has played in 23 matches this season for the Dutch Lions logging nearly 1,800 minutes on the pitch. A three-year letterwinner for the Cardinals from 2010-12 after transferring from UNLV, Granger was selected in the third round of the 2013 MLS supplemental draft by Real Salt Lake before joining Dayton in the USL. Overall, Dayton is fifth in the USL PRO standings this season with 34 points and 9-7-7 record.

A member of the Crew, Horton has not seen game action in the MLS this season and is currently on loan from Columbus to the LA Blues of the United Soccer Leagues where he has played in five games. After starting a short-term loan with the Blues on May 29, that loan agreement was extended through the end of the USL PRO Season (Sept. 6-8) on June 24. Horton had surgery on his left knee to repair a torn left lateral meniscus at the end of March.

A member of FF Jaro in the Finnish Veikkausliga, the premiere league in Finland, Jonke has been with the club since June 2012. This season, Jonke has played in 14 matches for FF Jaro with 12 starts and has scored five goals to go with two assists. Overall, Jonke has played in 69 games with 25 goals and 10 assists in his career in the Veikkausliga.
- Kenney Walker - Midfielder - NASL - Fort Lauderdale Strikers (On Loan from LA Galaxy; Click here for Walker's Profile with the Galaxy)
A member of the Galaxy, Walker has not seen game action in the MLS this season is currently on loan from LA to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the North American Soccer League. Though Walker did play 90 minutes in LA's loss to Carolina in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 29, he was sent to Fort Lauderdale on July 26 and is scheduled to remain on loan through the end of the year. Walker did not see action in the Strikers' NASL fall season opener on Aug. 3 against the NY Cosmos.
