Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's soccer team was ranked as the top team in the country by College Soccer News in the 2011 preseason poll. The Cardinals will open up the season in Cardinal Park on Aug. 27 against UCLA, the second ranked team in the poll. Louisville is one of four BIG EAST teams ranked in the Top 30 poll.

The Cardinals will return nine starters from last season's team that finished with a 20-1-3 overall record, winning the BIG EAST Red division and the BIG EAST Tournament before finishing as runner-up at the 2010 College Cup. Louisville returns two NSCAA All-Americans in Austin Berry and Colin Rolfe, also a Hermann Trophy finalist, to the field for their final season. Returning seniors include All-BIG EAST performers Nick DeLeon and Kenney Walker along with the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the BIG EAST Tournament Andre Boudreaux.

The Cardinals will begin practice on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
