DelPiccolo Signs with Eintracht Frankfurt and Granger is drafted by Real Salt Lake

Louisville, Ky. - After a two week trial with Eintracht Frankfurt of the Bundesliga Paolo DelPiccolo officially signed with the team on Tuesday. Fellow senior Brock Granger was drafted in the MLS Supplemental draft by Real Salt Lake.

Eintracht Frankfurt is the top tier of the German football league system and is currently in fourth place. DelPiccolo started all 21 matches for the Cardinals in the midfield. He finished his four year career at Louisville ranked as the all-time assist leader with 23 career assists. He finished this season tied for second on the team with six assists. DelPiccolo was named first team NSCAA All-Great Lakes region and earned first team All-BIG EAST honors this season.

"I'm extremely excited to be starting my career at Eintracht Frankfurt," said DelPiccolo via his agent. "There is a good environment here, and I feel like people believe in me. I can't wait to get started." Granger was selected in the third round with the 50th pick by Real Salt Lake. The Supplemental Draft, consists of four rounds but in many ways it is Rounds 3 through 6 of the SuperDraft. Granger Started all 20 matches for Louisville his senior year. He finished the year with an assist and a goal this year. He started in the Cardinals back field for three seasons and helped the Cardinal defense to seven shoutouts this year.

The Supplemental Draft is done via a conference call with all 19 clubs and the league. The Supplemental Draft allows for only players who have finished their college eligibility and been nominated by an MLS club, as well as youth internationals made available by MLS.
