LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The Tom Musselman Practice Facility Cardinal Club has been selected as a 2012 Golf Range Association of America Top 50 Range in the Private Category.

One of the final pieces in the Cardinals' rise to national prominence is in place for the University of Louisville men's and women's golf programs, as the Tom Musselman Golf Center officially opened on April 17, 2007, at the Cardinal Club.

The facility is state-of-the-art and instrumental in making the Cardinals one of the top golf programs in the country.

"We are pleased to be named amongst the best practice facilities across the country," said head men's golf coach Mark Crabtree. "Our teams have benefited tremendously from what is provided them at the Cardinal Club. With our future move to the ACC, it will likewise benefit us in our recruiting efforts to attract the very best to the University of Louisville. Obviously, we owe a huge thank you to Tom Musselman and all the donors who made this all possible for our programs."

The Musselman Golf Center, which was built at a cost of $600,000, is an indoor practice facility that will house both the U of L men's and women's golf programs. The 5,500 square foot golf center has three indoor hitting bays, video equipment with swing analysis capability, men's and women's locker rooms, an indoor putting green, and coaches' offices and a players' lounge. There's also an 8,000-square foot outdoor putting green.
