Freshman Matthew Gade recorded his first-ever top 10 finish tying for seventh place and helping the U of L men's golf team to a seventh-place team showing at the Fossum Invitational. Gade fired a three-round total of 218 (+2) in his strongest showing of his rookie campaign.
Colorado State transfer Geoff Nuwash backed Gade tying for 31st place overall with a 54-hole total of 226 (+10).
The Cardinals were within striking distance of third place after two rounds but veterans Chris Campbell and Grant Sturgeon shot final round scores of 80 to drop UofL to its seventh place tie.
