LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Former Colorado State University sophomore golf standout Geoff Nuwash has transferred to the University of Louisville and will be immediately eligible for competition this spring for head coach Mark Crabtree. Nuwash is slated to begin classes Monday when the 2000 Spring Semester opens. Following the Cards' spring season, Nuwash will have two full years of eligibility remaining.

"Geoff will make an immediate impact on our team," said Crabtree who successfully recruited Nuwash two season ago as the head coach at Colorado State. "He will jump right into our top five and be an important player for us this spring."

Nuwash competed for the Rams this past fall recording a pair of top 20 finishes while averaging 73.50 strokes per round. A native of Fort Collins, Colo., Nuwash played in three of CSU's five fall tournaments in 1999.

As a freshman, Nuwash helped the Rams to their first-ever NCAA Championship appearance and a Top 25 showing. He recorded a pair of Top 10 finishes during the '98-99 season and was third among Rams with a 75.18 scoring average in 14 tournament appearances.
