COLUMBUS, Ga. - A final round total of 294 (+6) helped the Louisville Cardinal men's golf team jump four places and finish their inaugural tournament under head coach Mark Crabtree third overall at the Gunby Jordan Intercollegiate. The Cards' 294 tied first-place Virginia Tech and ninth-place Georgia Southern for the low score on the final day of the 54-hole tournament.

Three Cardinals posted top 20 finishes led by junior Chris Campbell (Male H.S.) and senior Danny Baron (Trinity). The pair tied for 13th place with a total of 220 (+4) just one shot ahead of teammate Grant Sturgeon and two other golfers who tied for 15th place overall.

"I was pleased with the team's performance in the opener," said Crabtree who guided Colorado State to the NCAA Championships a season ago. "We put ourselves in a position to win on Sunday and that was exciting.

"All five players contributed and that is what we need in each event. We will work hard the next two weeks to get ready for the Kansas Invitational"
