Men;s Golf Tied for Eighth at Dr. Pepper Intercollegiate
Campbell in third place after opening round 72.

Pottsboro, Texas -- University of Louisville senior Chris Campbell continued his hot play carding an opening round even-par 72 to stand one shot out of the lead at the Dr. Pepper Intercollegiate. Campbell's 72 helped the Cardinals post a Day One showing of 305 to stand in an eighth place tie with Illinois in the 17-team tournament.

Day One of the 54-hole tournament was shortened to 18 holes after morning rain invaded the Pottsboro area. The Cardinals will be looking to move up the leaderboard Sunday as the tournament concludes with 36 holes of action.
