Men's Golf in Second After Day One at WKU/Kenny Perry Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team battled strong winds all day long and sit in second place after the first round of the WKU/Kenny Perry Invitational.

The Cardinals fired a 315 and are 10 shots behind Jacksonville State who leads the 12-team field at 17-over par 305.

The players' battled wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour all day. Only 12 players shot below 80 in the opening round and two players shot over 100 at the par-72, 7,400-yard The Club at Olde Stone.

Antoine LeSaux carded a 77 and is five strokes behind Jacksonville State's Franco Grillo who was the only player to fire par in the first round.

Henry Tomlinson fired a 78 and is tied for eighth. Freshman Robin Sciot-Siegrist mustered a 79 to give the Cardinals three players with scores in the 70s. Sciot-Siegrist is tied for 10th.

Maximilian Walz and Trevor Sluman both fired an 81 and are tied for 15th. The Cardinals' will return to the course at 10:50 a.m. EDT. Live scoring is available through www.golfstat.com.
