The University of Louisville men's golf team fired a 292 to sit in seventh place at the Firestone Invitational, presented by FirstEnergy Solutions, at the world-famous Firestone Country Club on Monday.
The first round was delayed until 10:30 a.m. ET due to frost, causing the cancelation of the second round. The event has been shortened from 54 holes to 36 holes, with tee times set to begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
The Cardinals are 10 shots behind leader, Ball State, who leads the 17-team field, with 282. South Carolina-Aiken is second and Davidson is in third place.
Max Walz had the best round for the Cardinals, firing 70 to stand in a tie for eighth place, but just two shots off the lead. Henry Tomlinson, Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Antoine LeSaux each shot 74 to tie for 32nd place, while Daniel Iceman round out the top five by shooting 77 to end the day in a tie for 64th-place overall.
