Macon, Ga. - Robin Sciot-Siegrist fired a 3-under-par 69 as the University of Louisville men's golf team fired a 1-over par 289 after the opening round at the seventh annual Brickyard Collegiate golf tournament on Friday.
The Cardinals are in fifth place just seven shots behind second-ranked Georgia Tech, while Virginia Tech is second at 283 and Mercer, which the Cardinals defeated at the Cardinal Intercollegiate earlier this fall, is third.
Antoine LeSaux posted an even par 72 on the 7,175-yard, par-72 Brickyard at Riverside course He currently sits in a tie for 18th place overall. J.D. Lehman shot a 1-over par 73 to stand in a tie for 27th place, while Max Walz and Robert Geibel are tied for 43rd place after shooting a 3-over par 75 to round out the top five for the Cardinals.
Round 2 begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for the Yellow Jackets, who are paired with the Hokies and the Bears. The final round is set for Sunday
