BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Playing in one of the toughest tournaments of the fall, the University of Louisville men's golf team is in 12th place after two rounds of the Jerry Pate Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.

The Cardinals got off to a slow start on Monday, shooting 307-294=601 to finish at 41-over par after the first two rounds. Texas leads the tournament after firing 271-278=549, sitting at 11-under par, while Clemson stands in second-place at 277-287=564.

Henry Tomlinson is tied for 19th overall after he fired 74-70=144 on the par-70 course. Justin Dorward, U of L's top player, is tied for 43rd overall after his 74-76=150, while Chris Malec is tied for 51st with his 80-73=153. Charlie Macneal is tied for 53rd after carding 79-75=154 and Nick Umholtz is 57th after his rounds shooting 80-77=157.

The Cardinals will tee-off in the third round beginning at 9 a.m. EDT on Tuesday. Live scoring is available through Golfstat.com.
