Day 1 Results 
Third Round Tee Times 
Louisville, Ky., - Wes Gates of Bowling Green shot a 7-under par 137 to lead the Falcons after the first two rounds of the Cardinal Intercollegiate on Monday at the par-72 Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
The Falcons lead the 15-team field after shooting an 8-under par 288-280=568, which is two shots better than the host, Louisville, who stands in second place overall after firing 291-279=570. Murray State is 10 shots back after carding 293-285=578.
Gates led the field by shooting 70-67 and owns a two-shot lead over Dustin Korte of Austin Peay and Jones Brown of Northern Kentucky.
The Cardinals had a solid day led by Antoine LeSaux and Robin Sciot-Siegrist, who stand in a tie for fifth place after both shooting 72-69=141. Playing as an individual, Daniel Iceman is tied for ninth after firing 68-74=142. Chris Malec and Henry Tomlinson are tied for 14th overall at144. Maximilian Walz is tied for 20th overall after carding 75-70=145 and Trevor Sluman is tied for 25th overall at 73-73=146.
Charlie Macneal is tied for 38th after shooting 74-74=148, and Gus Lundquist rounds out the round for the Cardinals and is tied for 47th overall with 78-71=149.
"I really liked the afternoon," said head coach Mark Crabtree. "We have four guys under par. We are right there in the hunt after two rounds. We have an opportunity on Tuesday to win. It will be fun to see how we play with a young and inexperienced team."
The first round was delayed an hour by frost.
