Men's Golf Finishes 14th at Wolf Run

Zionsville, Ind. - The University of Louisville men's golf team finished 14th in its first match of the fall season at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate at Wolf Run Golf Club on Sunday.

The Cardinals shot 296-310-298=904 in three rounds of action. The University of Illinois won the tournament for the third straight year with its two-day total of 868.

Riley Wheeldon and Sebastian Szirmak were the highest finishers for the Cardinals, who ended the day in a tie for 32nd. Wheeldon carded 74-76-75=225 and Szirmak fired 75-76-74=225.

Justin Dorward tied for 44th overall after shooting 70-81-76=227, while Karsten Clements was tied for 58th with 77-77-76=230. Chris Malec was tied for 72nd overall after firing 80-82-73=235.

The Cardinals will host the Cardinal Intercollegiate on Sept. 20-21 at the Cardinal Club.
