Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Wolfpack Spring Open

RALEIGH, N.C. - The University of Louisville men's golf team shot a 301 in the final round of the Wolfpack Spring Open on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals finished fifth with a score of 596. NC State won the 17-team tournament with a two-day total of 577.

Freshman Maximilian Walz captured his first top ten finish giving the Cardinals seven as a whole for the year. Walz tied for fifth after a second round score of 71 to finish at 73-71=144.

Daniel Iceman fired a 77 in the second round to tie for 28th. Iceman had a two-day total of 73-77=150. Chris Malec tied for 40th. Malec fired an 81 in the second round to finish at 72-81=153. Chris Biuso tied for 48th. Biuso followed up his first round 77 with another 77 to end the tournament with a score of 154. Justin Dorward carded a 76 in the second round. Dorward's first-round score was disqualified on Saturday due to an error on his scorecard.

The Cards return to action on Saturday, April 21 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie, Ind.
