CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The University of Louisville men's golf team finished tied for eighth at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals improved by four more strokes from the second round and carded a 294 in the third round and finished at 894 for the two-day tournament.
San Diego State won the tournament with an 864 while Arizona State's Jon Rahm captured medalist honors.
Gus Lundquist led Louisville in the third round. The freshman fired a 1-under par 71. Lundquist finished tied for 44th at 226.
Robin Sciot-Siegrist notched his fifth-straight top 10 finish. The freshman tied for eighth at even par 216. Sciot-Siegrist fired a 2-over par 74 on Tuesday.
Maximilian Walz shot a 75 on Tuesday. Walz tied for 37th at 224. Henry Tomlinson improved two strokes from the second round and shot a 76 on Tuesday. Tomlinson tied for 62nd at 231.
Trevor Sluman improved three shots from the second round. Sluman fired a 2-over par 74 in the final round. He finished tied for 75th at 236.
The Cardinals return to action at the Memphis Intercollegiate on Monday, March 25.
