Freshman(2001-02): Competed in all 12 events and ranked second on the squad with a 73.76 average, finishing only four shots off of Grant Sturgeon's record-setting pace while notching the third-best single season average ever by a Cardinal golfer ... logged three top 10 and three top 20 finishes ... teamed with Mark Anderson and Charlie Woo to form one of the top freshman classes in the nation -- the trio ranked fifth nationally according to the Golfstat Freshman Class Impact Rankings ... fired a 67 in first collegiate round to notch a three-under 213 at the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate in his collegiate debut ... followed that with a four-under 212 to tie for fifth-place and help lead the Cards to the title at the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational -- his second-round 66 was a team season-best and marked only the third time in school history a golfer had carded a 66 or better -- the 212 also marked the eighth-best 54-hole score in school history ... tied for seventh place at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic in the first event of the spring season ... finished tied for 16th at the Emerald Coast Collegiate, tied for 21st at the Johnny Owens Invitational and tied for 18th at the Marshall Invitational to round out the regular season ... fired a one-under 215 to finish tied for seventh place at the Conference USA Championships and lock up the league's Freshman of the Year award.

Tilghman High School: Lettered in golf at Paducah's Tilghman High School for coach Nancy Ragland and helped lead his team to a state championship ... earned all-state honors in 1997 and was Mr. Golf in 2001 for the state of Kentucky ... also lettered in basketball where he earned all-state accolades in 1998 and 2001 and McDonald's All-American honors in 2001.
