The University of Louisville football team received high grades on the field this year with its 11-2 record and a Sugar Bowl championship, but the Cardinals also have earned solid marks in the classroom during the spring semester.

The Cardinals finished the spring with a solid 2.68 and a 2.72 cumulative team grade point average for the fall and spring semester combined. The 2.68 mark was the second-highest mark during head coach Charlie Strong'stenure at UofL.

During the spring semester, the Cardinals had 30 student-athletes named All-Academic BIG EAST, and offensive lineman Alex Kupper and quarterback Will Stein were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society. Cornerback Adrian Bushellwas named a Scholar Baller award winner.

Five football players earned their degrees during May graduation, including 2013 seniors Damian Copeland and Champ Lee.
