Louisville, Ky. - -
After missing the last three practices due to a shoulder injury, University of Louisville sophomore running back Victor Anderson returned to action on Tuesday as the Cardinals finished their 11th practice of the spring indoors at the Trager Practice Facility.
Anderson stayed out of most of the contact drills but did go through many of the individual drills.
In Anderson's abscence, Marcus Roberts took a lot of the reps and made the most of his opportunity, breaking off a long run for a touchdown and showing good moves out of the backfield. He also made a nice pick up on a blitz against linebacker Chris Campa.
Quarterback Adam Froman also broke through on a long run before being run out of bounds. Wide receivers Trent Guy and Drew Robinson made numerous plays in the passing game.
The quarterback competition remains even with the reps being distributed pretty evenly at this point of the spring. During team drills, Justin Burke took most of the reps with the first unit.
Linebacker Brandon Heath continues to make play after play during drills. Playing on the outside, Heath put a huge hit on Darius Ashley that caused Heath's helmet to fly off.
"This was one of our better practices of the spring," said head coach Steve Kragthorpe. "I told the team after practice that the key now is to put two consecutive practices back to back. We are coming to the end of spring ball and I want them to continue to show me improvement."
The Cardinals return to action on Thursday at 4:20 p.m.
