Louisville Head Coach Charlie Strong

(Opening statement)
"Our football team played very well today - we went on the road and won a tough game here at West Virginia and got our third win in the conference. I am so happy for our team, and I am happy with how well they responded."

"We have overcome adversity all year long, and I just told them before the game it is not so much about playing hard, playing smart or playing with emotion, it's about you yourself going out and doing your job. If you yourself do your job, and your teammate does his job, then we have the confidence and trust that we will get it done."

"I was not surprised at all to come into this venue and for us to go and play well. We knew we had to play well. It was all about us coming in here to win the football game. We didn't come here to lose or to play it tight. We came in here to win."

(On WVU's offense)
"If you look at their offense, they scored on the third play of the game. I clicked over to (Vance) Bedford and said this is going to be a shoot-out. Our offense can respond, and I said this is going to be a high-scoring game. Their offense is really good, and there was no way we were going to contain them all day. They have too much speed."

"The quarterback, Geno Smith, is unbelievable. Watch (Tavon) Austin and (Stedman) Bailey - they have the speed and are able to get down the middle and put so much pressure on the defense. We were able to get the ball back and get it back for our offense."

(On Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater)
"Ted (Bridgewater) just continues to get better and better. As he has gained, he has developed. If you look at it, he is getting better and the whole offense is getting better because we are able to run the football. When you are able to run the football, it opens up the passing game."

"Teddy is doing a good job of managing the game and making the throws. Our running backs are running hard, and our offensive line is blocking well."

West Virginia Coach Dana Holgorsen

"Not a very hard one to figure out - you lose the turnover battle, you go 0-2 on field goals - that gets you beat."

"We played decent on defense in spurts. We played better in the second half, but didn't get them off the field when we needed it."

"We were incredibly competitive in two areas of special teams and incredibly not competitive in two areas of special teams."

"Both offensively and defensively we played well in spurts but didn't dominate in any area."

"Just a couple of things that were really glaring ... and you can't have that in a close game."

"I really don't care about the number of yards. We had the ball in the red zone and didn't convert."

"We couldn't punt, couldn't kick and we just lost the battle."
