A three-star cornerback, Trumaine Washington committed to the University of Louisville on Feb. 1. Washington is one of six recruits from the state of Florida and continues the pipeline from Miami to Louisville. The 5-foot-9-cornerback is considered to have great feet, loose hips, and very good ball skills. He's very aggressive in coverage, and is just a natural football player. Washington has great ball skills and understands how to play the football in the air. Washington shut down at least five big-time wide receivers in south Florida, including holding's No. 3 wide receiver Ermon Lane to zero receptions and also getting an interception in that game. He guided Killian to an 11-2 overall record before falling in the state playoffs to Miramar. As a senior, Washington had four interceptions and totaled nine for his career, while also returning two punts for touchdowns during his senior campaign. He totaled 50 tackles and was an all-state and all-country selection.
