BEFORE LOUISVILLE
A highly-rated defensive end, Trevon Young is the third of the early enrollees to the Louisville signing class. Coming out of Iowa Western Community College, Young was rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, 247Sports.com, and ESPN.com and a four-star prospect by Scout.com.He was rated the No. 4 defensive end by 247 Sports.com and No. 14 by ESPN.com. Young played one season at Iowa Western Community College, where he tallied 44 tackles and 13.5 sacks in 2013 season, including 22 tackles for a loss. For his efforts, the 6-foot-4 Young was named to MFC first feam defensive line and was tabbed a second team All-American. Prior to attending Iowa Western, Young attended Lincoln High School in Des Moines, Iowa, where he recorded 80 tackles during his senior season as the team's starting middle linebacker. As a tight end and wide receiver, Young caught 15 passes for 225 yards for a 15.0 yards per catch average. He tallied three touchdowns and earned first team all-conference honors. He was also a four-year varsity starter on the hardwood. He received offers from Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State and Mississippi before choosing Louisville.
