Boyle County High School: Rated as the seventh-best prospect in the state of Kentucky by Superprep ... first-team all-state choice by the Louisville Courier-Journal at linebacker ... honorable mention all-USA Today All-America choice ... named among 21 others as the Lexington Herald-Leader's Class of the Commonwealth ... recorded 232 total tackles as a senior leading Boyle County to a 15-0 mark and a state title ... intercepted five passes and recovered a pair of fumbles in '99 ... second-team all-state choice as a junior in 1997 but missed '98 season after a serious ankle injury forced him to miss nine weeks of school ... granted an extra semester of eligibility by KHSAA while he finished his studies.
