Jimmie Terry was an outstanding late signee for head coach Bobby Petrino and the football program. At 6-foot-4 and 350 pounds, Terry is considered to move extremely well for his size. He is clearly the top lineman for Mississippi and was recently selected to play in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game. He was considered one of the top 45 prospects in the state of Mississippi and one of the Fanatastic 15. A native of Madison, Miss., Terry played right guard for head coach Bobby Hall at Madison Central High School. Terry recorded a team-high 39 pancake blocks as a senior from his guard position. He started all 13 games for Madison, who went 9-4 and won district 6A championship. For his outstanding season, Terry was awarded second-team all-state honors by the Clarion Ledger. He also was a first team all-region selection and was the region's Most Valuable Offensive Linemen. He was voted a first team all-state selection by the Mississippi Coaches Association. As a member of the powerlifting team, Terry won the 6A Super Heavywight Divsion in the 6A region and has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 5.1 according to the coaching staff. Terry chose Louisville over interest from LSU, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Mississippi State.
