Henry Famurewa comes from the state of Georgia after a solid career at McEachern High under head coach Kyle Hockman. A native of Powder Springs, Ga., Famurewa's strength is his speed off the edge and his ability to disrupt the opposition's offense. Rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, Scout.com, 247Sports.com, and ESPN.com, Famurewa was a first team all-state selection after playing both defensive end and outside linebacker. Ranked No. 49 in Georgia by ESPN.com, Famurewa earned all-county accolades and was a two-year starter. Famurewa was rated the No. 45 defensive end by 247Sports.com, No. 48 by ESPN.com, and No. 75 by Scout.com. As a senior last season, Famurewa dominated on the defensive side of the football, recording 135 tackles, 17.5 sacks and 34.0 tackles for loss. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown and forced a fumble from his defensive end position. Famurewa, who guided his team to a 12-2 record last year and a loss in the state semifinals, also had a solid junior season, recording 90 tackles, including 20 for a loss, and 10 sacks. Besides Louisville, Famurewa also received offers from Boston College, Iowa, Marshall, NC State, and Tulane.
