LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The annual University of Louisville men's basketball tipoff luncheon drew another packed house as 1,430 fans attended the event at the Louisville Downtown Marriott Ballroom on Monday afternoon.

Following a highlight video in which fans relived moments from the 2012-13 national championship season, seniors Russ Smith and Luke Hancock introduced members of the men's basketball staff.

After those in attendance were treated to lunch, Hall of Fame men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino introduced the team and then addressed the crowd. He spoke about the challenges last season presented and the successes obtained and what fans could look for in the upcoming year.

Last week, Louisville unanimously was picked to win the inaugural American Athletic Conference regular-season title, and Smith was voted as the conference's preseason player of the year. The Cardinals are coming off a school-record 35 victories, sporting a 35-5 en route to the program's third NCAA title. Before registering six-straight victories in the NCAA Tournament, the Cardinals won their second-consecutive, third overall, BIG EAST Tournament title.

The Cardinals play their first exhibition game on Oct. 29 against Kentucky Wesleyan in the KFC Yum! Center at 7 p.m. Louisville's second and final exhibition, also at home, will be held on Nov. 6 against Pikeville at 7 p.m.
