LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Game times and television appearances for the University of Louisville's 2010-11 men's basketball schedule have been set, increasing the Cardinals' national television appearances to 17.

Two appearances on ESPNU have been added since the Cards' schedule was released last month: Dec. 11 vs. UNLV and Dec. 14 vs. Drexel. Television plans for U of L's Dec. 22 game at Western Kentucky are incomplete. The Cardinals' 17 national television appearances include seven of its last eight regular season games and 12 of its last 16.

The tipoff time for Cardinals' Nov. 20 home game against Jackson State in the Global Sports Shootout will be determined at a later date. To avoid a conflict with the Cardinals' football game against West Virginia that same date, the basketball tipoff will be determined after the football time is established 6-13 days prior to that date.

WHAS-TV (Channel 11), an ABC affiliate in Louisville, will televise 15 U of L games including a pair of exhibitions through local origination or the BIG EAST Network. All U of L games will be broadcast on 50,000-watt clear-channel WHAS Radio (840 AM) or WKRD (790 AM/101.7 FM) in Louisville and other affiliates throughout the region.

The Cardinals will face their first outside competition in an exhibition game against Northern Kentucky on Oct. 31 in the new 22,000-seat KFC Yum! Center. U of L officially opens its season and its sparkling new facility with a Nov. 16 matchup against NCAA national runner-up Butler, a game which will be featured on ESPN as part of the network's third annual College Hoops Tipoff Marathon.

U of L will return nine lettermen from last year's team which won at least 20 games for the eighth straight season (20-13 record). Louisville earned its 36th NCAA Tournament appearance last season and the Cardinals have reached the NCAA Elite Eight two of the last three years. The men's basketball team earned a collective 3.021 grade point average for the 2010 spring semester, its fourth straight semester with a 3.0 GPA.
