LOUISVILLE, Ky. -
Historic University of Louisville men's basketball posters will be available with a donation beginning at Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage, which tips off at 4 p.m. in the KFC Yum! Center.
Mark's Feed Store will provide posters with a donation at all three UofL scrimmages and at their five area restaurants while supplies last. Donations for the poster will benefit the Daniel Pitino Shelter in Owensboro, Ky. The five Mark's Feed Store restaurant locations are in Middletown at 11422 Shelbyville Road, Dixie Highway at 10316 Dixie Hwy, Fern Creek at 6501 Bardstown Road, Highlands at 1514 Bardstown Road, and New Albany at 3827 Charlestown Road.
The Oct. 13 scrimmage is in concert with U of L's "Return to the Nest" Homecoming on Main festivities, which will include activities on the Norton Healthcare Plaza of the KFC Yum! Center prior to the scrimmage. That event starts at 11 a.m. when the Cardinals' football team kicks off at Pittsburgh. The football game will be shown live on the plaza video screen.
Tickets for the Mark's Feed Store Red-White Scrimmage, priced at $10 for lower side and corner arena seats and $5 for end zone seats, are currently on sale at both U of L Ticket Offices, located near Gate 2 of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium off Floyd Street; and on the third floor of the Swain Student Activities Center. Both locations are open weekdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Cardinal fans may also purchase tickets by visiting Ticketmaster online, calling 1-800-745-3000 or by visiting any Ticketmaster Ticket Center, including statewide Kroger locations. Convenience fees are applied with Ticketmaster orders. Further information can be obtained by calling the U of L ticket office at (502) 852-5863.
There will be a drawing at the Oct. 13 scrimmage for a trip for two to follow the Cardinals' men's basketball team to the 2012 Battle 4 Atlantis, a prestigious tournament played at the famed Atlantis resort at Paradise Island, Bahamas on Nov. 22-24. Cardinal fans can visit the UofL Athletics Facebook page -- http://www.facebook.com/uoflsports -- for the link to sign up for a chance to win the trip. Official rules are noted on the sign-up page for the contest, which is open to UofL fans at least 18 years of age with a valid passport. Entries may be submitted until 5 p.m. on Oct. 12. No more than two entries per person may be submitted.
The Cardinals have two additional Red-White intrasquad men's basketball scrimmages scheduled in the KFC Yum! Center on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for those events as well.
