Additional Times, TV for Cards' Men's Basketball Schedule Set

2012-13 PDF Schedule LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Five additional game times and television appearances for the University of Louisville's 2012-13 men's basketball schedule have been set, completing the BIG EAST portion of the schedule. Five additional BIG EAST Network television appearances have been addded since the Cards' schedule was released in late September. Each of the five games will be televised by the BIG EAST Network and air locally on WHAS-TV, an ABC affiliate in Louisville. All U of L games will be broadcast on 50,000-watt clear-channel WHAS Radio (840 AM) or WKRD (790 AM) in Louisville and other affiliates throughout the region. The updated times are Jan. 2 vs. Providence at 7 p.m.; Jan. 12 vs. USF at 4 p.m.; Jan. 22 at Villanova at 8 p.m.; Feb. 6 at Rutgers at 7:30 p.m.; and Feb. 23 vs. Seton Hall at noon. The Cardinals will face their first outside competition in an exhibition game against Pikeville on Nov. 1 in the 22,000-seat KFC Yum! Center. U of L officially opens its season against Manhattan on Nov. 11 in the first of three straight home games. U of L will welcome back three starters and 11 lettermen from its successful 2011-12 squad which won the BIG EAST Conference tournament championship and advanced to the Cardinals' ninth NCAA Final Four. Louisville's 30-10 record marked just the sixth time in school history that UofL has won 30 games in a season. The Cardinals earned their second consecutive BIG EAST Conference Team Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes the highest collective grade point average in each of the conference's 24 sports. Tipoff times and television arrangements for the remainder of the games will be released at a later date.
