LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's basketball player Gorgui Dieng earned a pair of weekly honors after averaging a double-double in a week that culminated with two victories and the Cardinals' earning a share of the BIG EAST regular-season title.

On Sunday, Dieng was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week and the ESPN.com National Player of the Week after averaging 15.5 points, 10 rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals and shooting 68.4 percent from the field.

In the team's first game of the week, a win over Cincinnati, Dieng totaled 11 points, on 5-of-8 shooting, and nine rebounds. He followed up that performance with his 21st career double-double in the win over 24th-ranked Notre Dame, totaling 20 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, and 11 rebounds along with five blocks and three steals.

Louisville, which earned the No. 2 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, returns to action on Thursday, March 14, and faces the winner of St. John's-Villanova at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
