CHICAGO - University of Louisville men's basketball's Kyle Kuric's monster jam against Notre Dame on Feb. 9 was selected as a 2011 Dunk of the Year nominee, sports television production and event marketing company Intersport announced Monday. The 2011 Dunk of the Year is wholly determined by fan voting and will be announced on a one-hour "Dunks of the Year" special airing on CBS April 3 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Each week for eight weeks, four incredible college dunk videos are released at the 'Dunks of the Year' fan page on Facebook. The top weekly vote-getters proceed to the Finals, which start March 7, and are highlighted within the CBS special.
Kuric's dunk - a vicious posterizing of Notre Dame's Scott Martin - is competing against three other dunkers in week six.
To support Kuric, fans can vote once a day and share their vote with their Facebook friends. Week six voting opened Monday and ends Sunday, Feb. 20 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
