CHICAGO - University of Louisville men's basketball junior guard Peyton Siva's knee-buckling crossover and game-winning lay-up in overtime versus Vanderbilt on Dec. 2 is nominated for the GEICO Play of the Year, Intersport announced Monday.

Each week for eight weeks, four incredible college basketball plays will be nominated as the GEICO Play of the Year. Each week's winner will be determined by fan voting through the official Facebook page. The eight finalists will compete in a week-long competition to determine the GEICO Play of the Year. The winner will be announced during the GEICO Best of College Basketball special which airs March 25 at 1 p.m. ET. on CBS.

Fans are encouraged to vote once a day on the GEICO Play of the Year Facebook page.

In addition to recognizing the season's top plays, the one-hour CBS special will relive the season's greatest moments, players and traditions. The show reviews the GEICO Best of 2012 Basketball Tour, an interactive fan experience that visits 10 marquee games throughout the basketball season.

Early in the season, the Cardinals played Vanderbilt in a back-and-forth non-conference battle. With only a few seconds remaining, the game was tied in overtime and Siva had the ball at the top of the key. The veteran guard used a nasty crossover to get by his man and finished with a twisting lay-up with only one second remaining. The Cardinals got the win 62-60. Siva's incredible move, which led to the game-winning lay-up, is competing against three other plays from week four.

Indiana's Christian Watford won week one with his game-winning 3-pointer against Kentucky; Purdue's Robbie Hummel won week two with his buzzer-beating tip-dunk against IPFW; Oral Roberts' Damen Bell-Holter won week three with his full-court buzzer-beater against UALR; and Lindsey Wilson's Chase Spreen won week four with a three-quarter court buzzer-beater.
