  • Born Sept. 7, 1994 ... Son of Joey and Sandy Gilbert ... Has one older sister (Megan) ... Major is sports administration.
  • Personal goal at UofL is to "work hard and be the best player that I can be."
  • Best moment of his athletic career to date was playing in the state championship.
  • Enjoys watching movies and going for long drives in his spare time.
  • Chose to attend UofL because "it's close to my home and not many people get a chance to play for Coach Pitino."
  • Best basketball advice given to him was "it's not how you start, it's how you finish."
  • Few people know that "I am really country."
  • His father has had the greatest influence on his athletic career.
  • When he played basketball as a kid, he pretended he was Pete Maravich.
  • Among reality shows, he feels he would fare best on Duck Dynasty.
  • If you walked into his dorm room, the first thing you would notice is all of his food.
  • Best thing about being a Cardinal is having the opportunity to learn and play under Coach Pitino.
  • What impresses him the most about Coach Pitino: how driven and determined he is. He can get more out of a person's game, more than they knew that they had.
  • Would most like to meet J.J. Reddick.
