Freshman Year:

  • Averaged 6.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in the Cardinals' nine postseason games. He had 11 points and four rebounds off the bench against Colorado State in the NCAA Third Round. He scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds against Wichita State in the national semifinals.
  • Scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Syracuse in the BIG EAST Tournament title game.
  • Grabbed at least four rebounds in 17 games and scored at least six points on 19 occasions (four of the last seven).
  • Scored 43 of his 97 field goals on dunks.
  • Totaled 11 points, seven rebounds and four dunks at DePaul, his most points in 14 games and most rebounds since the ninth game of the season.
  • Gained his second start of the season and first since the Cards' opener against Manhattan in place of the injured Chane Behanan against Seton Hall, scoring 14 points in the game while adding three rebounds and two steals against the Pirates.
  • Contributed seven points and four rebounds against Kentucky, making a season-high 5-of-6 free throws.
  • Operated primarily at center against Western Kentucky, when he produced 13 points, six rebounds and a season-best four blocked shots. He made all five of his field goals, including three dunks.
  • Scored 14 points and had 7 rebounds vs. UMKC.
  • Top scorer for the Cardinals in both preseason exhibition games, averaging 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in the two games while connecting on 17-of-20 field goal attempts.
  • Helped the USA Basketball 2013 Men's U-19 World Championship team earn a gold medal at the championships in Prague, Czech Republic. In nine games during the event, Harrell started every game and averaged 10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, hit 42-of-73 field goals (.575) and added eight steals and 10 blocked shots while averaging 18 minutes a game for the deep USA squad.
  • Totaled a team-high 17 points, four rebounds, four blocked shots and hit 8-of-16 field goals in 28 minutes for the USA team in the gold medal game over Serbia.

High School:

  • Averaged 25.2 points, 13.6 rebounds and three blocks for Hargrave Military in Chatham, Va., which posted a 38-1 record and finished as the national prep runner-up. Hargrave fell 87-76 to Brewster Academy in the national prep championship in its only loss of the season.
  • Rated by Scout.com as the No. 72 overall prospect in the class of 2012, is listed No. 89 in the ESPNU Top 100 and is rated 82nd nationally by Rivals.com.
  • In one of his top efforts in prep school, Harrell totaled 51 points, 18 dunks, 17 rebounds and six blocks in a 122-119 overtime victory over Fishburne Military School.
  • Averaged 16.2 points, 12 rebounds and 6.7 blocked shots as a senior in 2010-11 while leading North Edgecombe High School in Tarboro, N.C. to a 21-3 record and the Tar Roanoke Conference Championship. He was the 2012 conference tournament MVP.
  • Named the MVP of two post-season all-star games in April. He scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the U.S. All-Stars over the Capital All-Stars 105-93 in the Capital Classic in Alexandria, Va. on April 21. He produced 22 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots -- including a swat in the closing seconds to preserve the victory -- to lead the East team to a 84-82 win in a Jordan Brand Classic regional game in Charlotte, N.C. on April 14.
  • Won a gold medal with the 2012 USA Basketball Men's U-18 National Team in the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, played June 16-20 in Sao Sebastiáo do Paraiso, Brazil. He averaged 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds as USA swept its five games in the event. He had 12 points and seven rebounds in a 110-59 victory over Mexico; and seven points and eight rebounds against the US Virgin Islands in a 105-42 win.
  • Also participated in football and track in high school.
  • Shattered a backboard in practice during his senior year in high school.
  • Originally signed a national letter-of-intent with Virginia Tech. He was released from that and then chose to attend UofL after receiving offers from Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Cincinnati and South Carolina.
