Louisville vs. Marquette (Jan. 15, 2011)

Photos from Louisville's game against Marquette.

Sophomore Year:

  • Missed much of his sophomore season with injuries.
  • Injuries stunted a good preseason for Goode. He was sidelined with a concussion sustained on Nov. 8. Then an ankle sprain occurring during individual instruction on Nov. 19 delayed his scheduled return to practice on Nov. 20. After returning to active status for five games, he suffered a bone bruise in his left knee joint in practice on Dec. 10 and was out until he returned to practice on Feb. 15.
  • Saw his first action since Dec. 5 vs. Charlotte when he played the last 1:24 of the first half at DePaul on Feb. 20.
  • Was in uniform for the first time in 20 games against Notre Dame after his recovery from a knee injury. He returned to practice on Feb. 15.
  • Started and played a season-high 13 minutes against Charlotte.

    Freshman Year:

  • Played a season-high 22 minutes against Kentucky and contributed two assists and two blocked shots.
  • Totalled career highs of seven points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots off the bench against Morehead State in the Cardinals' season opener.
  • Had five points, four rebounds and five blocked shots against Indiana State in 12 minutes of action.
  • Early indications of a stress fracture in his right leg limited his practice time for three weeks after the first of the year, but he remained available for action in the games. He played in 10 of the last 13 games.
  • Enrolled at U of L in the fall of 2007, but sat out the season after not meeting freshmen initial academic requirements to play for the Cardinals. He was not permitted to practice with the team during the 2007-08 season. He has four seasons of eligibility available.

    High School:

  • Averaged 17 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.7 blocks, 2.1 assists as a senior in leading Raytown South to a 22-5 record and the Missouri Class 5 district finals.
  • First team all-state selection by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association and the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
  • Averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots as a junior in helping Raytown South High School to a 23-4 record. He was a first team all-conference selection as a junior.
  • Was rated No. 66 among the Hot 100 seniors in the class of 2007 by SI.com, the 73rd best prospect in the nation by Scout.com, 86th by USA Today recruiting analyst Rob Harrington, and 97th by Rivals.com.
  • Also considered Oklahoma State, Missouri, Kansas, Baylor and Marquette before signing with the Cardinals.

    Personal:

  • Born Oct. 6, 1988 ... Son of George and Cynthia Goode ... Major is communication.
  • Personal goal at U of L is "to become the best I can be."
  • Enjoys "chillin' and going to the mall" in his spare time.
  • Chose to attend U of L because "it was the place for me to become the player I need to be."
  • Best basketball advice given to him was to never give up and work hard.
  • His mother Cynthia has had the greatest influence on his athletic career.
  • When he played basketball as a kid, he pretended he was Penny Hardaway.
  • Changed his jersey number to 0 at midseason last year because he kept getting hurt and wanted a fresh start.
  • One of the best moments of his athletic career was scoring 18 points in two minutes of action at Nike Camp.
  • Few people know that "I am addicted to shoes."
  • Most proud of "becoming a college student."
  • If you walked into his dorm room, the first thing you would notice is his shoe collection.
  • What impresses him the most about Coach Pitino: "his will to win and his swag is like no other."
  • Supersticious that he needs to wear two pairs of long socks to play.
  • Would most like to meet Keri Hilson.
